Tuesday at 1:30 PM I’ll be joining colleagues from the Department of Energy and Net Power to discuss New Advances in Sustainable, Dispatchable Generation at the Texas Industrial Energy Consumers Annual Meeting. I’m looking forward to sharing X-energy’s perspective on the emerging nuclear energy market for industrial energy needs and exploring how the Xe-100 can deliver clean, reliable power for industry developers that need to shift away from carbon fuels.
Workshop - Advanced Reactors and the Need for Advanced Control Systems
For months I’ve looked forward to my next chance to work with Rick Vilim and his team at Argonne National Laboratory. I’m very happy to say that I’ll be flying to Chicago this week to see Rick as well as many other key researchers in this very important area for a two-day technical workshop.
ANL is hosting this workshop for advanced reactor developers, university researchers, and national lab staff to discuss and explore advanced control system concepts as well as the path toward regulation of advanced control systems. I’ll be joining a panel discussion at 10:10 CST to represent X-energy and discuss industry needs for advanced control systems, including my work on the Xe-100. I’ll be joined by Daniel Althouse (TerraPower) as well as Rob Meyer (NuScale).
